What are Lowe's Workshops For Everyone?

Is there a cost to attending the various workshops?

All workshops are free; however, throughout the year there may be select workshops that provide customers with take-with items for a pre-specified cost.

What types of classes will Lowe's offer?

From cabinets to closets, paint to perennials, Lowe's wants to give customers the confidence to tackle any project in or around their home. Many class ideas are from associates and based on the questions they hear most in the aisle.

What can I expect when I attend one?

Each class presents an opportunity to develop DIY building skills under the expertise of a Lowe's associate. Expect to be part of a classroom, in the middle of the aisle, with hands-on participation.

How do I register for one of the Lowe's workshops?

Who can participate in a DIY Workshop?

Everyone, from beginners to experts, are welcome to join the instructor-led workshops. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

When are the various classes held? How long do they run?

DIY Workshops begin every Saturday at 10 a.m. and may take up to 90 minutes (although some will be quicker).
DIY Women's Workshops begin the second Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. and may take 45-60 minutes (although some will be quicker; only in select stores).
DIY Kids' Workshops are the second Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to noon with each project kit taking about 15-30 minutes to complete (registered attendees may stop by between 9-11 a.m.; only in select stores).

Our custom building kits are not only designed to inspire the next generation of builders and grow confidence, but intended to be a quality toy that kids can enjoy for years to come.

What can parents and their children expect from the workshops?

Each workshop is an opportunity for kids to develop their DIY building skills under the expertise of Lowe's DIY Kids' Workshop Captains, represented by a Lowe's store associate equipped to facilitate each workshop. From wooden bird feeders to fire trucks, each month highlights a different project complete with a free apron, project merit patch, goggles, and all the materials needed.

How do I register my child for a DIY Kids' Workshop class?

Parent and/or guardians can register by visiting Registration is free and online registration for each workshop opens approximately one month prior to the in-store workshop date, while supplies last. All workshop participants must register.

Who can participate in Lowe's DIY Kids' Workshops?

These specially designed workshops are for kids, ages 4-11, and their parents to participate in together. However, all ages are welcome with the supervision of a parent and/or guardian.

When are workshops held? How long do they run?

Workshops are regularly held the second Saturday of each month from 9:00am to 12:00pm at participating stores. Each project kit will take about 15-30 minutes to complete.

If I am registered online, what time do I need to show up?

If you registered your child online, your kit will be reserved from 9:00am-11:00am on the day of the workshop. At 11:00am, your kit may be given to walk-up customers in the store. We cannot guarantee your child's spot after 11:00am.

Do parents or guardians need to be present?

Parents or guardians are required to be present throughout the Lowe's DIY Kids' Workshop and will be asked to sign a waiver as part of the registration process.

Does my child need to be present or can I pick up a free kit and take it home?

Your child must be registered and present at the workshop to receive a free kit.

How can I purchase DIY Kids' Workshop kits for my child to build at home?

You can bring the fun home with our variety of project kits and accessories that can be purchased online or at select Lowe's stores.
